This painting was inspired by map lichen and its symbiotic nature, and thriving together under challenging circumstances. 

With this painting, I asked myself, "Do lichens dream?"

Even if they don’t have the neurological ability to dream, I think the ideas behind the question are worth considering. Slowing down, being more intentional in our relationships with each other and nature, and holding space and time for important moments. Taking time to breathe and regroup when we’ve been through something challenging. Remembering we are not alone.
